There are four entrances to the hall. Two are for the guests and others are for the students. The theatre is equipped with a disco light system and fire spillers. Making it the perfect place for any form of entertainment. Vintage pictures of the school’s past principles can be seen in the main hall. They are placed at the top of the hall as a tribute to the service they have done throughout the years. Apart from that, an engraved name list of the past head prefects is also placed in the hall.

History of the main hall.

The main hall was built around 1898 with the generous support of the school’s foreign admires. Back then it was a small apartment that was used to have the morning assembly. From time to time it has undergone major renovations under different principles. The most notable upgrade was adding the balcony. The balcony was added to the school to meet its demanding staff and students.

With the advice from one of the school’s old boys Mr.David Edirisinghe, an engineer, a beautiful and grand-looking balcony was completed along with a round wooden staircase. Today, the gentlemen of Kingswood have their Main hall with a balcony, fulfilling the dreams of its ancestors and founders.
