The main organizers of this significant event are the Junior Old Boys Association (OBA) of Nalanda College Colombo. They partnered with the Government of Sri Lanka to make this event more successful.
The Initial step of Future Minds
They started this event as a job bank and career guidance event around Two Thousand. Then it got converted into an educational exhibition in Two Thousand Six with the name “Future Minds”. The main purpose of this event was to provide everyone with an equal opportunity and not to leave behind anyone. Future Mind Exhibition is a platform that provides both local and international opportunities. This way the students can explore international educational opportunities without framing the options that are available in Sri Lanka.
The developments in Future Minds
They started the Kandy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kandy exhibition in Two Thousand Eleven and the Galle exhibition in Two Thousand Twelve.
In Two Thousand Seventeen, the virtual reality in an exhibition concept was introduced at the Future Minds Exhibition. This was the first time that the concept came into the Sri Lankan exhibition context. In Two Thousand Eighteen, they introduced the Indian Pavilion concept as well as the virtual expo concept.
This was also the year that Future Minds introduced the Financial Zone concept. This added extra value to the entire exhibition series. Under this segment, they offer different types of financial support such as student loans, educational support services and even advice about how to manage your finances during study time.
What does the Future Minds Exhibition offer?
The committee of Future Minds exhibition holds this event in three locations. They hold the Colombo and Kandy exhibitions in June while the Galle exhibition is in September. There are more than a hundred and fifty local and international institutions participate in this exhibition. There are organizations in countries such as the USA, UK, Australia, and Singapore as well as from India. It does not matter whether you are looking for a science-related degree or an engineering degree or your passion is to study tourism… you can find plenty of options if you attend Future Minds exhibitions.

It is not just about education, it is also embedded with the career guidance segment the leading corporations such as Unilever, John Kheels and even financial companies such as private banks conduct walk-in interviews where you can get a job on the spot. This segment came into the play in Two Thousand Sixteen. And the organizations are conducting one to one career counselling sessions that guide the students and show them the accurate pathway.
It is not merely an exhibition, it is also a place where you can have some fun. There are different types of raffle draws, competitions and games organized by different stalls in different companies.
