What is a Bachelor of Dental Surgery?

Dental Surgery is the branch of dentistry that is related to procedures and surgeries with regard to oral diseases and treatments. In other words, doing surgery on teeth and jawbones.
BDS is a four years degree program that provides knowledge about basic and advanced techniques. Modules such as Infection, immunity and inflammation, neurosciences, oncology, dental implants, and systems such as endocrine system, pulmonary & renal system, gastroenterology system, Oral Surgery, and Oral Biology will be covered under the Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree.
Eligibility for the Indian Medical Colleges
A student should have 3Cs for their Advanced Level in order to apply for a medical degree in a Medical College in India.
Moreover, the students should sit for an exam called “National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-NEET”. This is a compulsory examination that every student should take. This examination consists of four subjects (Chemistry, Physics, Botanic, and Zoology) while each carries 180 marks (Overall 720 marks).
The pass mark is 119 marks of this examination. Alas, the student should be within 1-100,000 ranks to receive a seat in the medical college. The ranking is done according to the ‘All India Ranking System’. A student who is between 1-15,000 rankings can apply for a half scholarship while a student who is between 1-5,000 ranks can apply for a full scholarship.
